Bradley Cooper is tackling the Super Bowl with a new commercial for Uber Eats, and to hear the actor tell it, the new partnership couldn't have come at a better time.
“I host Sunday football [parties] at mine for friends and the kids and I love to make pizza, but we sometimes order in,” the actor explains, adding that “when you are feeding kids – that means a lot of pizza.”
Fortunately, Cooper has his Uber Eats app ready to go, a byproduct of living in a big city — and living a busy actor's life. “I live in NYC,” he says. “I use Uber Eats when we're running around and don't have time to cook so [the commercial] is a nice fit.”
Cooper is speaking to Rolling Stone the day after the Grammys, and while the Master actor would love to chat music — “I'm still reeling from the D'Angelo, Ozzy [and] Roberta Flack tributes,” he says — he's focused on football this week, both as a longtime NFL viewer and as the star of Uber Eats' 2026 Super Bowl commercial. The new ad sees the actor teaming up with Matthew McConaughey to debunk some timely conspiracy theories centered around eating. Specifically: is football just a massive ploy to sell food?”
The back and forth between the actors forms the basis for Uber Eats' “Hungry for the Truth” commercial, which finds McConaughey supporting the “football is for food” thinking (“When a quarterback runs, they call it a scramble,” he posits) while diehard sports fan Cooper deftly — and later rejectedly — pushes back. Spoiler: there's a cameo from Parker Posey doing her best White Lotus Victoria Ratliff impressed too.
As Uber Eats says in a release, this “foodball debate and evidence has stacked up – and for Super Bowl LX, they're hashing it out on the sport's biggest stage.”
Cooper and McConaughey have worked together before — most memorably in the 2006 rom-com Failure to Launch — and Cooper says he was excited to team up with his friend once again. “Working with Matthew was wonderful,” he says. “Between takes, there was a lot of laughing and catching up. He was a great scene partner, and it's been so long since we worked together. I was so happy to reconnect.”
Cooper is a noted Philadelphia Eagles fan, and the Pennsylvania native even worked the team into his Oscar-nominated 2012 film, Silver Linings Playbook. The Eagles fell short in the postseason this year, losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL Wild Card round, but Cooper says he's still proud of his team's results. “The Eagles had a strong season — competitive, resilient, not always pretty, but they stayed in it,” he says.
As for who he's rooting for now in the Super Bowl? “No favorites this year,” Cooper says diplomatically; “[I’m] just hoping for a good game.”
