Processing mourning is a painful and universal process: when we lose someone we love, we often continue to speak to them in silence, seeking in our thoughts the comfort that the real world can no longer give us. “Astral”, the new single by Eternal Silence, sets to music this dialogue between those who remain and those who have abandoned the physical body. It is a hand extended towards those who feel trapped in the darkness of sadness and detachment.
“It can't be true, I know you're still there. No, why would you abandon me? The world's about to collapse, it's dragging me down“: the first reactions are the rejection and bewilderment that accompany every loss. But the essence of those we love continues to speak to us through memory, the senses, the details that remain imprinted in everyday life: “Hear our voice in the notes of a song, our scent in the air when you're feeling lost, We are wherever your senses evoke a memory of usYou just need to listen with your heart to feel it: it is a different presence, subtle, astral, but still capable of orienting and supporting.
The impressive architecture of symphonic metal manifests itself through a melancholic violin, voices that oscillate between delicacy and fury, solemn orchestrations, stormy guitars and a powerful rhythm section that sees Mattia Rubino as a guest behind the skins, giving life to a complex and harmonious piece that oscillates between human pain and the impulse towards what is beyond.
The video clip that accompanies “Astral” tells of the attempt to let go and, at the same time, the impossibility of severing that profound bond. Because some chains never break: they change shape and become light.
Eternal Silence were born in 2008 from the passion of Marika Vanni (vocals) and Alberto Cassina (guitar and vocals), founders and beating heart of the project. Since the beginning the band has moved in the Italian symphonic metal scene with a powerful and atmospheric sound, where the melody meets intensity, lyricism and gothic metal influences.
After an initial phase dedicated to the classics of the genre, Eternal Silence found their own artistic identity which took shape in first two albums: “Raw Poetry” and “Chasing Chimera”both released by Underground Symphony Records.
In 2014 they participated in the tribute to the historic metal band Heavy Load, recording the song “Stronger than Evil” for the collection “Tales of the Northern Swords”.
After the EPs “Metamorphosis 2008–2018” and “Renegades” (Sliptrick Records), released in 2021 by RockShots Records “Timegate Anathema”recorded at Groove Factory Studio and produced by Michele Guaitoli (Temperance, Vision of Atlantis). The album, preceded by four singles, is officially presented with a release party at the Legend Club in Milan and a long series of dates in Italy and Europe.
In 2023 “3” arrives, an EP inspired by Norse mythology and the figure of the Three Norns.
Over the years, Eternal Silence have shared the stage with the likes of Therion (in Moscow and St. Petersburg), Haggard, Sound Storm, Giacomo Voli, Rhapsody of Fire, Timo Kotipelto and Jani Liimatainen, playing in Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany and of course throughout Italy.
In 2025 comes a new important milestone: the signing with Sorry Mom!, a management agency ready to open a new phase in the history of the band.
