“Suicide Disco Vol. 2“(2023) was the turning point. Less experimentation, more space for a sound More direct and square, perfectly poised between Electro-Ebm sinuous and gloomy veins darkwave (this intertwining between synthesizers and vocals declined to the female continues to work, despite the trend is now inexorably inflated).
“Love Cuts” (six songs in all) continues in the same direction, anticipating the new chapter of a hypothetical trilogy destined to end in the coming months. This time the Franco-Ceca couple literally breaks the vinyl in half, giving us three dark compositions on the one hand and a trio much more Danceable in the second part.
If the dark atmospheres of “Devil in a skirt” give us an inspired and in great shape duo, with the subsequent “Affair de Coeur” and “Hide & Seek” The Years of Denial do not vary much on the topic, sliding along an invisible line not without elegant magnetism. However, to turn on the lights of the night, you have to wait for the fateful B-SIDEfirst with the synthetic lash of “We are the party” (when the Body Music It becomes sensual) and finally with the very black pearl as a club “to the loveover”, probably one of the best pieces ever written by the project.
The least exciting “in Your Bed” remains so confined in the background, despite its neurotic and obsessive crescendo.
Waiting to see Jerome Tcherneyan and Barkosina Hanusova on Italian stages at work (soon the duo will perform both in Bologna and in Caserta), there is still time to immerse himself among the notes of this small but significant work, obviously recommended for the lovers of the dark sound new generation.
