Track will appear on Cudi’s next LP, Insano, set to arrive in January 2024
Kid Cudi has teamed up with Travis Scott and Pharrell Williams for his new song, “At the Party,” off his upcoming album, Insano.
Along with delivering the song’s hook, Pharrell produced “At the Party” with John Baptiste, mixing speaker-rattling kick drums, bass thumps, and an array of heady synths that flit between psychedelic and sinister. Kid Cudi matches that mood on his verse, especially with lines like, “I don’t give a fuck what they saying/Cleveland city roots, anybody else got loose/When I get it in, tripped on shrooms/And I’m screaming out ‘Fuck them running with the troops.’”
“At the Party” is the third song from Insano Cudi has released, following “Porsche Topless” and “Ill What I Bleed.” A full track list for the album hasn’t been revealed yet, and back in September, Cudi announced that he was pushing the release date to January 2024 so he could “make sure that everything lines up and I give y’all the best version of myself.”
He added: “I’m sorry for the delay everybody, but I’m a perfectionist. And things gotta be right.”
Insano, Kid Cudi’s ninth studio album, will follow the musician’s 2022 LP, Entergalactic. This year, along with working on Insano, Cudi collaborated with Scott, Skrillex, Lyrical Lemonade, and Lil Durk. The longtime Star Trek fan also got the chance to partner with the classic sci-fi franchise, dropping a new song, “Heaven’s Galaxy,” getting a full Cudi-Trek merch line, and even becoming a playable character (in full U.S.S. Enterprise regalia) on the video game Fortnite.
