Megan Thee Stallion is back with a new song. “Cobra” is the musician’s first single since formally cutting ties with 1501 Certified Entertainment. It arrives via the Houston rapper’s new independent music and entertainment entity, Hot Girl Productions, and comes with a music video in which Megan Thee Stallion crawls out of a snake’s mouth, peels off a layer of her skin, and performs a dance routine to a guitar solo. Watch the “Cobra” visual below.
In a message ahead of the release of “Cobra,” Megan Thee Stallion wrote, “Cobras exemplify courage and self-reliance. They stand tall and fierce in the face of challenges, teaching one to tap into their inner strength and rely on oneself to conquer their treats. Emulating the cobra helps one be more confident in the person they are within.”
“Cobra” follows Megan Thee Stallion’s high-profile Cardi B collaboration “Bongos” and her Dicks: The Musical contribution “Out Alpha the Alpha.” Her last album was 2022’s Traumazine, which landed in a year of pop culture ubiquity for the rapper that included a cameo in the Disney+ series She-Hulk and a hosting spot on Saturday Night Live.
