After the very rapid sold out of the date at the Alcatraz in Milan last March, the Skunk Anansie They returned to Italy for a summer tour that sees them protagonists in seven cities. July 9 was the turn of Bolognawhere the band led by charismatic Skin has inflamed the Sequoie Music Parkgiving the public a memorable show between old glories, new hits and strong and clear messages.
A more alive band than ever
With thirty years of career, multiple records and a cult status in the world rock scene, the Skunk Anansie They have once again shown that they are a force of nature. The live of Bologna was a concentrate of energy, with always magnetic skin on stage, capable of alternating moments of pure rock anger with others more intimate and intense.
The ladder has gone through the group's entire career: from the timeless “Weak”, “I Can Dream”, “Hedonism”up to the most recent songs like “Cheers” And “Lost and Found”extracted from the new and acclaimed album “The Painful Truth”produced by David Sitek of TV on the Radio. A job that marks a new era for the band, more personal and powerful than ever.
“The Painful Truth”: the new album
The disc was born after a complex period for the band: parenting, mourning and uncertainties put them in front of the “painful truth” (hence the title), that is, the need to evolve in order not to become a cover band of oneself. Having retired to a farm in the Devon, the four found their essence and give life to a fresh, sincere and rich in energy album.
