Robert Fripp had in a heart attack and was hospitalized and subjected to two interventions in Bergamo. The guitarist and leader of King Crimson tells him in a video with his wife Toyah Wilcox.
“My husband had a heart attack two weeks ago, but he was in the right place at the right time.” The right place is Italy, where Fripp came on April 26 to perform with the Orchestra of Crafty GuitaSts in Castione della Presolana, in the province of Bergamo. He thought he had gastroesophageal reflux, of which he suffered since 2019, but the symptoms have become stronger and more worrying.
“Two weeks earlier I had a heart attack, but I didn't know it.” Not feeling well the morning when he would take flight for our country, he asked that a doctor was in Castione della Presolana. Arrived in Italy, however, he was brought to the emergency room of the Bergamo hospital. Laughing, he explains that “I walked my balls. But if you are worried about the heart, why do you shave my balls? ».
After discovering he had heart problems, he asked to return to England to solve them, but the doctor told him that he would be dangerous. It was then subjected to two interventions, the second of which on Monday. Stents were implanted, a delicate intervention due to the trorphation of a artery. The worst thing? “The vase to piss in bed,” says the musician who had never had great health problems and whose convalescence will last from six to eight weeks.
«I have two other things to say. First: if you feel stomach acidity or reflux, check because it could be something else. Second: after I was discharged on Thursday, I went to play and the performance on Saturday evening in the church of Castione della Presolana was wonderful. It was a magical event for me ».
